Freedom's Frontier Board of Trustees will meet at Bates County Museum

The Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area Board of Trustees will hold its regularly scheduled meeting Wednesday, October 14, 1-3 p.m., at the Bates County Museum, 802 Elks Drive, Butler, MO. Following the meeting, trustees are invited to take a museum tour.

Later in the month, Trustees and others are invited to attend Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area's 3rd Annual Luncheon, on Thursday, October 22, 11:30 a.m.-2 p.m., at the Olathe Community Center, 1205 E. Kansas City Road, Olathe, KS. Following the luncheon, from 2-6 p.m. there will be an Interpretive Grant Showcase, tours, and an after hours reception across the street, at Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop & Farm Historic Site, 1200 E. Kansas City Road.

At the luncheon, staff, trustees, friends of the heritage area, and others interested in heritage area history, will celebrate achievements, and learn the names of the recipients of the (Judy) Billings Most Valuable Partner Award and the (Judge Deanell) Tacha Freedom Award winners.

The Interpretive Grant Showcase displays allow heritage area partners to show how they have used grant funding from Freedom's Frontier. The special tours will provide an experience at the Mahaffie Stagecoach Stop, as visitors explore the site. The after hours event includes refreshments.

The luncheon and after hours reception are ticketed events. Tickets for the luncheon are $20, or $25 with the after hours reception included. Tickets for just the tour and after hours are $10 for two tickets if purchased online (Bring a friend!). Reservations can be made online at https://freedomsfrontier.givezooks.com/events/2015-annual-awards-luncheon.
