Smithsonian Magazine's Museum Day Live! participating sites offer free museum admission

Saturday, September 26, 2015 is a Smithsonian Magazine Museum Live! event day. Museums across the nation will be offering free admission. Several museums in Kansas and Missouri that are participating are located within the boundaries of Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area.

Participation in Museum Day is open to any tax-exempt or governmental museum or cultural venue on a voluntary basis. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for and does not endorse the content of the participating museums and cultural venues, and does not subsidize museums that participate.

Visit www.smithsonianmag.com/museumday/museum-day-live-2016/ to create an account and get free tickets. Most of the museums listed here will accept a ticket shown on a smartphone for admission. Each ticket admits two people.

Parker Carousel Museum, Gardner Historical Museum, Goodnow House State Historic Site, Grinter Place State Historic Site, Johnson County Museum, Kansas Children's Discovery Center, Kansas Museum of History, Marianna Kistler Beach Museum of Art, Old Depot Museum, and the Quayle Bible Collection.
