Free Educator Open House at Flint Hills Discovery Center

The Flint Hills Discovery Center invites all educators to attend the second Educator Open House. On Thursday, March 3, from 4-6 p.m., educators will experience all the Flint Hills Discovery Center has to offer, as well as gain resources to help connect their curriculum to the Flint Hills.

Those in attendance will have the opportunity to sample science and history teaching strategies and attend one of two on-site example education programs. Educators will also have the chance to tour the latest exhibition at FHDC, How People Make Things, view Tallgrass Prairie: Tides of Time in the Horizon Ranch Flint Hills Immersive Experience Theater and mingle with staff and regional educators.

Open House is open to all educators including private, public and homeschool. Informational packets will be provided including FHDC onsite programs, outreach programs, upcoming exhibitions, self-guided activities and much more.

Light refreshments will be served. Please register before March 3. Participation is free for all educators with valid ID and walk-ins are welcome.

To register, please call (785) 587-2726 or email FHDCeducation@cityofmhk.com.
