Clinton Lake Historical Society seeks public input for museum master plan

The Clinton Lake Historical Society is updating its Master Plan for the Wakarusa River Valley Heritage Museum property at Bloomington Park East at Clinton Lake.

A series of three public meetings will be held to learn about the Master Plan and provide feedback on various features.
The first meeting is Saturday, May 13, at 11 a.m., at the Flory Meeting Hall, Douglas County Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper Street, Lawrence, KS.

Proposed Master Plan features include:

  • Existing - Wakarusa River Valley Heritage Museum
  • Existing - Freedom Rings by local artist Stephen Johnson
  • Proposed - Meeting Hall and parking lot
  • Future - Wakarusa River Valley Community Cabins
  • Future - Steele House Ghost Structure
  • Future – Kansas Avenue Interpretive Walk
  • Future – Log Cabin and Bloomington Interpretive Center
  • Future – Agricultural Museum
  • Future – Educational Museum
