Former Special Forces commander and hero participates in Kansas Cowboy Poetry ContestMark Nutsch to serve as judge at upcoming annual event
Manhattan, Kan. – Heroes, cowboys and poetry will come together for the final round of judging to select the best of the best Kansas Cowboy Poet on June 14, at 7 p.m. at the Flint Hills Discovery Center in Manhattan. A special Meet & Greet with Mark Nutsch at 5:30 p.m., sponsored by the Flint Hills Discovery Center Foundation will take place before the contest. Both events are free and open to the public.
Nancy Kassebaum serves as this year’s honorary chief judge. A celebrity panel is made up of Mark Nutsch honorary chair of the Flint Hills Discovery Center Foundation’s Next Vistas national campaign; Bill Snyder, retired football coach of the K-State Wildcats; Chief Justice Lawton Nuss of the Kansas Supreme Court; Brooke Lennington, KSNT anchorwoman; Megan Moser, executive editor of the Manhattan Mercury; Lynn Hinrichsen, USDA Rural Development State Director; and Mike Dodson, Mayor of Manhattan.
