Find free family fun at the Flint Hills Discovery Center
MANHATTAN, KS – Everyone is invited to attend Family Day at the Flint Hills Discovery Center on Sunday, September 13, from noon to 6 p.m. This is the fourth annual free admission day in celebration of the local community.
“We are glad to continue to provide the Manhattan community and Flint Hills region with an opportunity to experience the Flint Hills Discovery Center with free admission every fall for Family Day,” said Fred Goss, Director of Flint Hills Discovery Center.
All visitors will have access to the permanent and temporary exhibitions, the Horizon Ranch Flint Hills Immersive Experience and the children’s area. The Gift Store will also have special products on sale for all ages.
Local partners include the City of Manhattan Parks and Recreation Department, City of Manhattan Douglass Center, City of Manhattan Sunset Zoo, City of Manhattan Fire Department, City of Manhattan Animal Shelter, City of Manhattan Water Department, Boys & Girls Club, Riley County Police Department, Manhattan Convention and Visitors Bureau, Riley County Historical Museum and Science Communication Fellows. All will be in attendance with fun, educational activities for families.
The summer exhibition, In the Dark, runs through Sunday, September 20.
“This year provides a final opportunity to experience In the Dark as well,” said Goss. “I can’t think of a better way to spend a Sunday afternoon than at the FHDC and then make your way to downtown Manhattan and the surrounding area.”
