Manhattan, KS –Professor Farquar and Polecat Annie are here to entertain the kids for the night! Join us at the Flint Hills Discovery Center on Saturday, October 22, 5:30-9 p.m., for the Great American Medicine Show Youth Dinner Theater. The show has been designated as a Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area 10 year anniversary event.

“The youth dinner theater events at the Flint Hills Discovery Center are a great chance to meet new friends,” said Amber Myers, Education Specialist, STEM, at the Flint Hills Discovery Center. “These aren't just dinner and a performance; these also include fun activities and games to round out the unique experience.”

The Great American Medicine Show is an authentic recreation of one of the 19th century’s most popular diversions, presenting traditional toe-tapping tunes, incredible magic, plus lots of laughs and audience participation. Polecat Annie will give hands-on instruction in rope twirling, plate spinning, Victorian amusements, Indian games and palm reading.

“I’ve always loved simple, but amazing card tricks,” said Daniel Schapaugh, Education Specialist, History/Culture, at the Flint Hills Discovery Center. “I’m looking forward to seeing more of Professor Farquar’s tricks.”
