    Family Fun Day

    Join the National Frontier Trails Museum for a day of FREE family fun! Learn about the historic western trails with hands-on activities for the whole family. Kids can pack their wagon for a journey on the Oregon Trail, take a wagon ride, watch a blacksmith demonstration, or visit a Civil War encampment. There will even be an old-time photo trailer. All outdoor activities are free to the public. Museum admission is also free to Independence residents. Food and beverage available for purchase....details >>

    Rotary Freedom Festival

    Join us for the March for Freedom (1.4 miles or 2.3 K), historical reenactments, military displays, children and family activities, a Pop-Up park on the Kaw, food vendors and live music on the stage on 5th by the Post Office. The evening concludes with a concert headlined by Kelley Hunt. You will need a ticket to get through the gate on Kansas Avenue at either fourth or sixth street.
