Opened in 1859, it is the resting place of a U.S. vice president, soldiers from every conflict since the War of 1812, and city and state founders. Its Mausoleum Row is on the NRHP.

Grounds open sunrise to sunset daily. Office open Mon. - Fri. 8 - 4:30 and Sat. morning by appointment.
