We've been in our new home at the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center for more than a year, and the Johnson County Museum invites you to come visit to explore the history and heritage of our community. The Johnson County Museum offers innovative, engaging, and challenging programs that will inspire all learners to discover a sense of place and spark excitement about history.

The Johnson County Museum offers innovative, engaging exhibitions and programs that inspire learners of all ages to discover a sense of place and spark excitement about history.

The Museum offers long-term and changing exhibits, the children's history experience KidScape, field trips, homeschool, youth and scout programs, lectures, special events, birthday party packages, rental space and a wide variety of online research tools. The museum manages two locations: the history museum inside the Johnson County Arts & Heritage Center in Overland Park and the Lanesfield Historic Site in Edgerton, Kansas.

The videos posted below show a little about Lanesfield Historic Site programming for school-aged children, and relate the history of the All-Electric House - which has been moved inside of the museum, out of the elements.

A third video showcases the Johnson County Museum and the All-Electric House in its current location, at the Arts & Heritage Center.

The museum's historic collections include more than one million photographs, 20,000 3-D artifacts, and 300 cubic feet of archival material.

In 2017, the Johnson County Museum served over 50,000 visitors onsite and nearly 100,000 people through online resources available at www.JoCoHistory.org.
