    On Migration to Douglas County - A Traveling Exhibit

    This traveling exhibit features 13 panels that focus on how communities in Douglas County were populated. A variety of stories are included in the exhibit that was funded by the Kansas Humanities Council and Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area with support from the Douglas County Heritage Office.     Snake Meet-And_Greet!

    Total Lunar Eclipse Viewing

    Join the Flint Hills Discovery Center for a night of lunar fun. We’ll watch the moon turn red as it passes through the earth’s shadow during the total lunar eclipse. Bring your own telescope or use one of our high-powered ones to get an up close view! Professor Chris Sorensen from the K-State Physics Department will also be on hand to guide us through the evening and answer our astronomical questions.     Total Lunar Eclipse

    Join us at the Stach School (behind the Kansas Museum of History) for the Total Lunar Eclipse, a free event open to the public. We'll provide a safe, clear viewing place. Meet Brenda Culbertson, NASA/JPL solar system ambassador, and other members of Paladin Astronomy. You don't need special equipment to observe the lunar eclipse. Just go out and look up. Restrooms will be available. The event is canceled if weather does not permit safe, clear views. Come prepared for the cold....details >>
