    This yearlong exhibit chronicles the 100-year history of Kansas City’s Guadalupe Centers, Inc. – and by extension, the history of the city’s thriving Hispanic and Latino community.     Two Exhibits: Out of the Toy Box; & Photographs by Maude Frink

    Out of the Toy Box: Franklin County at Play features more than 150 years of toys played with by Franklin County children. Photographer Spotlight: Maude Frink.     The Native American in Art

    The works of Karen White, from Kansas City, Kansas, tell stories, illuminate history, and depict emotions that capture a moment in time using monochrome and vibrant colors. Her art includes canvas, paper, walls, pavement, and children's book illustration. She works in pastel, watercolor, white chalk, oil, and graphite pencil. Karen was selected to create a portrait drawing of internationally acclaimed Jazz pianist Jay McShann. This exhibition features her art of Native Americans....details >>

    Museum After Hours - Bluecoat and Pioneer: The Recollections of John Benton Hart, 1864-1868

    John Benton Hart served in the 11th Kansas Cavalry from start to finish. The accounts of harrowing moments during the regiment’s history were preserved in his diary. They include the ongoing fight against the threat of Confederate General Sterling Price’s army and the Battle of the Platte Bridge at Casper, Wyoming. John Hart is a descendent of the Civil War veteran and recently published a book based on the diary accounts. The author will do a book signing after the program....details >>
