    Kansas City's Guadalupe Centers: A Century of Serving the Latino Community

    This yearlong exhibit chronicles the 100-year history of Kansas City’s Guadalupe Centers, Inc. – and by extension, the history of the city’s thriving Hispanic and Latino community.     Encounter on the Underground Railroad: Morning Event

    Walk in the footsteps of freedom seekers! Help us commemorate the events of January 1859, when John Brown took 12 persons fleeing slavery through Lawrence. We'll meet in the Holcom Park Recreation Center and make a short walk to the historic Grover Barn--where Brown's party stayed before continuing north to freedom--then enjoy historic presentations.
