    Kansas City's Guadalupe Centers: A Century of Serving the Latino Community

    This yearlong exhibit chronicles the 100-year history of Kansas City’s Guadalupe Centers, Inc. – and by extension, the history of the city’s thriving Hispanic and Latino community. Founded in 1919, Guadalupe Centers is the longest continuously running Latino-serving organization in the country. On display through May 2020. View during regular library hours.     Making Birdhouses

    Join in the second most favorite hobby in the country by building your very own handmade birdhouse. Colleen Winter, owner of the Wild Birds Unlimited in Shawnee will be give a presentation about birds who nest in birdhouses, their characteristics, types of birdhouses, how to take care of them, etc. Shawnee Town added two bluebird houses to our farmstead property this past winter and Ms. Winter will take us to them for observation.
