Guided Tour of Buck Creek with Rex Buchanan

Take a guided tour of land preserved by Kansas Land Trust along Buck Creek in Jefferson County. Rex Buchanan, author of "Kansas Geology: An Introduction to Landscapes, Rocks, Minerals, and Fossils", leads the walk. We'll explore and observe rocky ledges along Buck Creek. This is a primitive area with terrain with rocky slopes, tall vegetation, and wet surfaces. There are no hiking trails or restrooms. Wear durable shoes/boots, long pants and sleeves. Bring insect repellent and water.

Cost: To be notified of event cancellation due to inclement weather, please RSVP jjost@klt.org. Park along the east side of Buck Creek Road, North of 35th Street at approximately 3900 Buck Creek Road. This land is accessible for seasonal hiking and hunting only by permission from the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism.
