Angela Bates, Nicodemus Historical Society, will talk about Nicodemus, Kansas, the only remaining western town established by African Americans during the Reconstruction Period after the Civil War. This pictorial history explores unique experiences of children in Nicodemus who were the first members of their families born free from slavery.
