Susan B. Anthony Visits Olathe, Ks

In 1867, Kansas voters were faced with the opportunity to give suffrage to white women or African-American men. Susan B Anthony, Clarina Nichols and other suffragettes along with proponents of rights for African-American people rushed to Kansas to participate in the debate. This theatrical presentation uses historical newspapers, letters and diary entries to tell the story of the 1867 referendum. Staff from Mahaffie will read excerpts from this readers' theater using these accounts.
