Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area is happy to announce the return of its popular transportation grant program Bus on Us! following a two-year hiatus. Initially halted during the Covid-19 pandemic, the federally funded grant program was further suspended due to uncertainty surrounding the heritage area’s reauthorization.

Freedom’s Frontier was one of 30 heritage areas across the United States set to expire in 2021. As part of the appropriations bill passed by Congress in mid-March, funding for those heritage areas, including Freedom’s Frontier, was extended through 2023.

Bus on Us! is designed to assist educators and accredited public, private, or charter schools with the cost of transportation to field trips within the heritage area that also align with the themes of Freedom’s Frontier.
