1. Introduction

Freedom’s Frontier National Heritage Area is seeking proposals from qualified professional photographers to provide photography services for our organization. Our nonprofit partners with historical sites in eastern Kansas and western Missouri, and we require high-quality images to support our mission, enhance our communications, and showcase our work.

2. Organization Background

Freedom’s Frontier was designated as a National Heritage Area by Congress in 2006 to foster economic development and tourism in western Missouri and eastern Kansas. This regional, grassroots initiative covers a unique physical and cultural landscape across 41 counties and 31,000 square miles. FFNHA achieves its goals by partnering with over 250 local organizations that promote three diverse, interwoven, and nationally significant stories: the settlement of the frontier; the Missouri-Kansas Border War and Civil War; and the enduring struggle for freedom.

3. Scope of Work

The selected photographer will be required to:

  • Photograph Partner Sites and the Region: Capture images of FFNHA partner sites, their visitors, and the landscape that makes this region unique.
  • Image Editing: Provide post-processing and editing to ensure all images meet professional standards.
  • Deliverables: Provide digital copies of images in high-resolution format, with a license for usage rights.

4. Proposal Requirements

Proposals should include the following:

  • Portfolio: Samples of previous work, particularly in nonprofit or similar settings.
  • Approach and Methodology: Description of how you will approach the project, including a proposed timeline.
  • References: Contact information for at least three references from previous clients.
  • Cost Proposal: Detailed pricing for services, including any additional costs for travel, editing, and other expenses.
  • Availability: Confirm availability to start and complete the project within the required timeframe.

5. Evaluation Criteria

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Experience and Qualifications: Relevant experience and quality of previous work.
  • Creativity and Style: Ability to capture compelling and impactful images.
  • Cost: Competitiveness and transparency of pricing.
  • References: Positive feedback from previous clients.
  • Approach and Timeline: Feasibility and alignment with project needs and deadlines.

6. Submission Instructions

Please submit your proposal electronically in PDF format to [email protected] by October 19, 2024. Late submissions will not be considered.

7. Terms and Conditions

  • Contract: The successful applicant will be required to sign a contract outlining the terms of the engagement.
  • Confidentiality: All information and images related to the project must remain confidential.
